THE MAGICAL 1000

We all sang and performed under the baton of the great Mr. Glenville Davies Thomas! All of us met for the first time at the great OHIO STATE FAIR in Columbus, Ohio. For three weeks we rehearsed, marched, ate fair food, sang and performed our hearts out for thousands of people. As Glenville had warned us, it was an experience that was difficult to comprehend for someone who had not had the privilege. Glenville and Mari made sure of that! Always being one step ahead of other performing groups there and fighting to keep us in the forefront with special and unique performance opportunities others would not dare to chance!
Glenville Thomas “...HAD A DREAM!” His was to provide kids like you and me, from large and small towns in Ohio a special opportunity, an opportunity that would provide education and motivation for our personal future along with memories for a lifetime.
We can proudly say we sang and performed for thousands of people; countless local and national television and radio shows; Governors; European dignitaries, several Presidents; Rose Parades; Macy's, and on top of the World Trade Center!
The weekend of August 2 and 3, 2013, will be 50 years since that initial group of singers met at the corner of 17th and Velma Avenues and with that Golden Anniversary, we would like to honor the Heritage of Glenville Thomas and his dream. Mr. Thomas always had the dream of a 1000 Voice Choir. We know it would be great if you could be part of that group! We are planning a fun-filled reunion type family weekend. Come and see old friends, make new friends and be a part of the “MAGICAL 1000!!!”
This once-in-a-lifetime weekend will have three parts, that together, culminate into one, memorable "Tribute to Glenville Thomas"!
Price per ticket, to be a part of this fabulous tribute weekend, is $62/person and includes the following:
Part I is Friday evening, August 2 for Rehearsal/Reunion at our host hotel, The Columbus Airport Marriott.
Part II is Saturday, August 3 the 50th Alumni Day at The Ohio State Fair. Tribute to Glenville Thomas Memorial and Concert at The Celeste Center and The Coliseum Show (ALL COSTS incurred at the fair are NOT included in the $62 ticket price).
Part III is Saturday evening, August 3 at The Grand Valley Dale Ballroom for The Salute to Glenville Thomas Memorial Dinner Gala.
